Only put un-recyclable materials into your gray container!
Glass
  • Ceramics, Pyrex, porcelain, stemware, or other dishware
  • Light bulbs
  • Mirrors or window glass
Metal
  • Aerosol cans
  • Car parts
  • Foil
  • Microwaves
  • Small metal pieces (Nuts, bolts, etc.)
  • Paint cans or other household hazardous waste containers
  • Scrap metal
  • Wire clothes hangers
Organic Material
  • Food scraps
  • Animal feces or manure
  • Painted or treated lumber
  • Plywood or particle board
  • Palm leaves, cactus, pampas grass, ice plant
Paper
  • Plates, cups, paper or cardboard contaminated with food
Plastic
  • Five-gallon buckets
  • Plastic bags
    (Grocery, produce, dry cleaning, newspapers)
  • Polystyrene blocks
    (From packaging materials)
  • Polystyrene packing peanuts
    (Securely contained in a clear plastic bag)
  • Polystyrene or plastic "take-out" containers
  • Toys, furniture, flower pots and syringes

Unacceptable Garbage Material
Please do not place the following materials into your gray container!
Construction Debris
  • Concrete, rocks, dirt
Electronic / Universal Waste
  • Televisions, computers, cell phones, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury switches
Green Waste
  • Grass, leaves, tree and bush cuttings
Heavy Metal Items
  • Auto parts
Hot Ashes or Coals

Household Hazardous Waste
  • Paints, solvents, motor oil, cleaners, corrosives, used syringes
Recyclable Glass, Metal, Paper and Plastic
  • All recyclable materials
